The artists performing in the 2012 Summer Sounds concert series at LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch in Katy, Tx have been released, including a lineup of local and regional artists performing everything from zydeco to blues.
The series is scheduled to kick off Thursday, May 31 with Caribbean country band Jerry Diaz & Hanna’s Reef.
Alternative reggae band Potbelly is scheduled to perform Thursday, June 7.
The band’s influences range from Sublime and Nirvana to The Misfits.
Potbelly was named the best reggae/dub band at the 2010 Houston Press Music Awards.
The Zydeco Dots is scheduled to play their brand of high-energy Creole folk music on Thursday, June 14.
The band has backed up notable accordion players such as Pierre Blanchard, C.J. Chenier, Leon Sam and Pierre Stout.
Houston blues band La La Wilson & Company is scheduled to bring a bit of Houston blues history on Thursday, June 21, led by former Sam Cooke bandleader La La Wilson.
Other band members have played with B. B. King, the Four Tops, Johnny Taylor and more.
JALEA, Spanish for "jelly," is scheduled to get crowds dancing at the close of the series on Thursday, June 28.
The group plays merengue, salsa, bachata, cumbia, reggaeton and Latin pop and are scheduled to bring the sounds of Carnaval to LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch.
The Summer Sounds concert series performances are from 6-9 p.m. in Heritage Square.
All shows are free and open to the public, with food and nonalcoholic beverages available.
LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch is located in Katy near beautiful neighborhoods such as Westfield and Westheimer Lakes.
