Recently, Regency Centers started construction on the first phase of the 260,000-square-foot Southpark at Cinco Ranch shopping center in Katy, Tx.

Southpark at Cinco Ranch is located at the intersection of Westpark Tollway, FM 1093, and Spring Green Boulevard, FM 723.

The shopping center is scheduled to be anchored by a 101,497-square-foot Kroger grocery store and fuel center, which is set to open in late 2012.

The grocery store and fuel center is expected to create an estimated 300 new jobs.

A 71,680-square-foot sporting goods store, seven outparcels and 29,920 square feet of small shops will be completed during the first phase of construction as well.

Regency Center is scheduled to add an additional 57,000 square feet during the second phase of construction.

A new housing development has been planned by Resolution Real Estate and Newland Communities for Cinco Ranch in Katy, Tx.

Construction of Lakeside Villas at Cinco Ranch, a $21 million gated community that is scheduled to have 160 apartment homes on an 8-acre tract at Spring Green and Cinco Ranch boulevards, is scheduled to start immediately.
